Romantic ideas for Valentine’s Day

If you’re in a romantic relationship, you might be feeling the pressure to make sure everything goes wonderfully this Valentine’s Day. While just being with the one you love should in itself be enough, it’s still a good idea to make a plan for celebrating the day. Here are a few suggestions to make it a success:

(1)Spread 500x375 Romantic ideas for Valentines Day Creative cooking: Get creative in the kitchen and think of a dish the two of you have never prepared together before. Look through cookbooks or find a good recipe and go shopping for ingredients together. Another option is for one of you to teach the other how to prepare something new. And then you can do it the other way round. Sharing, teaching and learning new things together is a form of intimacy.

(2) Your own soundtrack: Compile a CD of your ‘greatest hits’. The best Valentines Day gifts are those with a personal touch. Make a CD with songs that remind you both of some of the happy times you’ve shared together. Listen to it together while going for a relaxing drive or at home.

(3) Picnic: Order a hamper filled with gourmet food and go on a picnic. Too cold outside? Even better – make it an indoor picnic in the privacy of your own home. If you have a fireplace, that would make it really romantic. But if not, turn the lights down and light several candles.

(4)Wine 500x361 Romantic ideas for Valentines Day Wine tasting: The two of you could visit a winery together. Not only will you enjoy tasting excellent wines, but you will also be learning about them together.

(5) Make it a long weekend. One day isn’t enough to celebrate your relationship and love for each other. This year, Valentine’s Day is on a Monday – possibly the least romantic day of the week! So, take advantage of the preceding weekend and go away together on a romantic getaway. If that isn’t possible, convert your home into a private love nest for just the two of you!
